How much does counselling cost?

Image of the session fee

I charge £36 for each fifty-minute session.

However, some slight concessions are available for people on very low wages or benefits. If you would like to discuss your payment options, then please contact me.

The initial meeting costs just £15, as an introductory offer, to give you the opportunity to meet me and decide if counselling is right for you.

When should I pay my counselling fees?

You can pay your fee for each session at the end of each session.

What methods of payment do you accept?

You can pay your fees by cash or cheque. Please make cheques payable to Damien Haigh.

If your employer is paying for your counselling, then I will invoice your employer, and you do not need to pay anything at the session itself.

Is it possible that the fee could change whilst I am in counselling?

I review my fees with all clients in March each year as a matter of course. I will give you one month’s notice if I need to raise your fee at this time.

If you have been on a reduced rate, and your circumstances improve, then I reserve the right to review the fee at other times of the year too.

Will you still charge a fee if I miss a counselling session?

If you miss an appointment, for whatever reason, and you do not let me know, the full agreed fee is payable.

If you give me less than 24 hours’ notice, then you pay £15 for the missed session, as I still incur some costs.

However, if you give me more than 24 hours’ notice that you cannot attend, then there is no charge for changing or cancelling your session.

You are responsible for making sure that I have received your message about any cancelled sessions.

Why do clients have to pay for missed sessions?

I may still incur some costs, such as room hire, or my time and travelling expenses, if you decide not to attend. I can only avoid or recoup these costs if you give me sufficient notice that you want to cancel the session.
